Farewell....MJ.....
Right, so I'm one of the billions who stayed up and watched MJ's memorial service at
1 am last night at Star World channel. Gosh, it was really really sad....we have lost the world's greatest and most talented entertainer on this planet. It is our loss. A pity.

I guess percentage of us was not really a follower or an ardent fan. Till tragedy struck, we tend to google, read, pages after pages, websites after websites about this person. Yet, do we really care? Do we want to care? Why is it till now then we care? Or we have cared but we cared even more now?

Learning of MJ's journey, the life of a successful and the most sort after entertainer, his journey is definitely not an easy one. Having been physically abused since he was young, having been accused for the things that he didn't do (how much do we trust the reports? How much do we trust MJ?) Only the parties involved truly know. These aside, it is his love for music, it is his love for dance, it is his love for the world, it is his love for the people that truly touches all of us.
His love was the greatest of all. His love was felt by all.

I have never felt such a sense of loss and sadness over an artiste's death. To me, he is more than a singer. He is an inspiration. He speaks to us, spreads his love and friendship through his songs. In fact, if you grew up listening to his songs, you will understand that this man, this man called Micheal Jackson, is nothing but a great human being with the purest heart.

When I heard Brooke Shields talked about MJ in the memorial service, I was already tearing. It was how she spoken of him, with so much love and friendship and fond memories of this man. She said his laughter was the purest. She said MJ was giggling like a child when both of them sneaked into Elizabeth Taylor's room, a day before her wedding day (aiyoh, dunno number what wedding of hers already) just to peek at her wedding dress. Little had they known that Elizabeth was sleeping! One can only picture this child-like act with nothing but smiles.

For the past few weeks, we have watched and read reports after reports on MJ. Interviews after interviews too. All of them would said, "He is my idol. He is the reason why I am here in this music industry. I am his no. 1 fan, blah blah blah...."
However, when he is still with us, do we hear these ppl say the same thing? " Oh, I like Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, blah blah blah...." Ha.

Watching his concert clips, seeing how his fans fainted and screamed for him, it was beyond desciption. I asked myself, how can anyone loved and went so crazy over this man? Isn't it crazy? I don't know. I never knew why. Because I don't know why I am one of these crazy people too.

He sang the song, Black and White. MJ is black. Yet he coloured himself white. I wondered if he hadn't do that to himself, would he be as famous? And if he hadn't go for plastic surgery, could he have lived better?

He is such a lonely man.

And what was MJ's favourite song?

Smile (from Modern Times) by none other than the famous comedy actor, Charlie Chaplin.

I can only cried when I had that. Charlie Chaplin was one of the most famous English comedic actor / filmmaker / composer / musician. His life was not an easy path as well.

What does the song say?

Hope you can listen with your heart and learn to smile no matter what happens along your journey in life.

Smile tho' your heart is aching,
Smile even tho' it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by,

If you smile
thro' your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shin-ing thro' for you

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev-'ry trace of sadness,
Al -'tho a tear may be ever so near,

That's the time,
You must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worth-while,

If you just smile...

Smile - Thomas Beckmann
